Alan Wake: The Writer DLC (Xbox 360)

The second and final extra content for Alan Wake. It continues right after the previous DLC and wraps up the original game, with a possible sequel set up.

Again, it was really short. The DLC's should have been just merged, but enough of that. Alan continues trying to break free from The Dark Place and fight against himself.

There wasn't much of a difference really from the last. The two biggest highlights were the maze puzzle and the final boss fight. The maze puzzle deserves a lot of credit, you were essentially in a building but it span round. You'd have to manouver as it span and be careful you didn't go too early or late and cause a death. The end fight was probably the best boss fight of the whole game. It was a great twist and a real stand off against some memorable faces, with swarms of birds in between.

I did quite like the rest of the story, but I much preferred the previous part. There was also a lot less Barry, which was one of the strongest points of the last.

If you enjoyed Alan Wake, you should definitely get both of the DLC's and wrap up the story, they are pretty good and overall it's a great story.

3.5/5
